Abstract

The problem of the color environment of the city, its formation and impact on citizens attracts close attention of architects and urban planners. Number of attempts were made to create a workable theory of urban coloring. The article proposes an ontological approach that links the characteristics of the color environment of the city with the general philosophy of the urban environment, the system of priorities and values of the citizens and the ethical and aesthetic paradigm prevailing in the urban society.
