Recent changes in urban planning have transformed traditional societies and produced modern, car-dependent neighborhoods. These shifts have weakened social ties in new governmental housing areas, where many residents report feeling isolated. This study examines how open spaces influence social quality in these developments. The research enhances understanding of how urban design affects social quality in government-planned communities and provides design recommendations to reduce social isolation and strengthen community connections in Bahrain’s housing projects.
