Siberian housing in the context of the eastern turn Authors Konstantin Lidin https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7022-6871 Elena Grigoryeva RAACS https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1181-8380 Downloads PDF (Русский) DOI: https://doi.org/10.51461/issn.2309-3072/87.2730 Keywords: Siberia, eastern turn, history, architecture, housing construction Abstract The interaction of the European and Asian parts of Russia is developing in complex and ambiguous ways. Periods of treating Siberia as a colony are replaced by periods of predominance of an equal and mutually beneficial dialogue. In the history of attempts to understand the role of Siberia, one can find deep and constructive models, in some cases undeservedly forgotten. Today, the slogans of the “eastern turn” and the “sibirization” of Russian domestic politics are being put forward. The article discusses the prospects for the implementation of these slogans using the example of housing construction, taking into account the specifics of the Siberian climate and cultural traditions. Traditional Siberian housing helps to maintain not only physical but also mental health, which creates additional incentives for using cultural heritage in modern housing construction.
