Abstract

The monograph presents a model of the evolution of the principles of form making, as well as the changes in the basic concepts and categories of professional consciousness in architecture of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The diversity of contradictory phenomena is shown as a result of the interaction between two polar architectural and artistic paradigms. The book is intended for art historians, architectural historians, and a wide range of readers.
