The features of the formation of the spatial structure of the city are revealed using the example of search options of the 1932 master plan. The article points out the high role of squares connecting the main highways and forming urban planning ensembles near them. It has been revealed that the use of green entrances and belts influenced the urban planning legislation of Japan.
