Abstract

Architecture and urban planning are turned to the future due to the durability of their works. Therefore, the development of architecture is closely related to the state of futurology and the presence of fruitful ideas and images of the future in it. The current situation in this sphere is characterised by the predominance of ideas about the future of either linear or retrospective type. The linear type builds an image of the future, continuing the tendencies of the present with small quantitative changes. The retrospective type draws the image of the future as a return to previous formations, reproducing the social structures of feudalism on a new technological basis.
