The work enabled the team to understand the range of problems and the territorial and natural-climatic uniqueness of the place. After the announcement of the competition, ADM and Grazhdanproekt Institute decided to participate themselves, as they had practical experience in designing for the North. The author was interested in how the practical design material could be used to structurize and test a number of already existing concepts in the theme defining the principles of co-organisation of the city in close co-operation with natural-climatic and landscape features of the place.
