Аннотация

Рассматривается один из самых ярких объектов советского периода – Дом Советов на разных этапах его воплощения – от проектирования до конечного результата. На примере иркутского Дома Советов выявляется своеобразие подхода к строениям этого типа: архитектурные конкурсы, комплексный средовой подход, стилистические особенности, связанные с идеологическими установками, проблемы при строительстве.
