Статья посвящена анализу деятельности русских инженеров в контексте строительства и проектирования коммерческого порта Владивостока. Кратко рассмотрены исторические предпосылки его становления. Выявлены и проанализированы три этапа его дореволюционного развития, связанные с периодами становления, первой крупной модернизации и переосмысления деятельности порта в годы Первой мировой войны. Изучены генеральные планы развития портовой зоны, выявлено авторство инженеров, разрабатывающих эти проекты. Рассмотрены наиболее репрезентативные работы, установлено их авторство, а также проанализирован ряд нереализованных эскизных проектов как генеральных планов, так и отдельных объектов. В научный оборот введены новые персоналии инженеров, внесших значительный вклад в развитие города, а также выявлена ведающаяся роль инженеров путей сообщения в градостроительном развитии портовой зоны Владивостока.
