It highlights the properties inherent in the urban environment, such as dynamism, historicity and regenerativeness. Using the example of the history of Siberian cities, it is shown that the urban environment is constantly evolving, reflecting changes in the citizens’ social way of life. At the same time, the structure of the urban environment is able to preserve some elements over the centuries and restore its structure after natural and historical disasters. However, the elasticity of the urban environment has a limit beyond which the structure can collapse irreversibly. References Althusser, L. (2005). Lenin and philosophy. Ad Marginem. Castells, M.
