Abstract

Urban infrastructure and networks are reinterpreted as compositional guides and a hidden resource that influences the integral artistic image of the environment of a modern historical city, forming a unified flow of functional, landscape ecological, social, communicative conditions and professional initiatives. Examples are provided from the architectural and urban planning practice in Nizhny Novgorod, as well as the experience of holding the regular International Festival of Multimedia Art “Intervals”.
