The architectural appearance of the district is traditionally associated with the “Chinese Baroque” style, which was formed as a result of the interaction between Chinese and European architectural traditions in the early 20th century. However, some of the buildings in the district are designed in the Art Nouveau styleor contain its characteristic elements, which indicate the influence of the Russian architectural school. The purpose of the study is to identify and analyze Art Nouveau objects and their role in the formation of urban environment. The research results show that the use of Art Nouveau forms in Daovai was fragmented and manifested itself mainly in individual decorative motifs and compositional solutions for the facades, but plays a significant role in the architectural appearance of the district.
