Abstract

The article is devoted to an outstanding monument of wooden architecture of the 18th century – the Church of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God in the village of Podporozhye, Arkhangelsk region. The church was part of the temple complex. Based on historical sources, the history of all the facilities of the complex in the period from the middle of the 17th to the end of the 19th centuries is revealed. The authors also present the information about the previous churches. It is determined that the original architectural appearance of the object has been preserved to our time with minimal changes. The architecture of the Church of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God is analyzed in the context of the development of local traditions. The article reveals the origins of architectural features of the object and considers their analogues. The current state of the Church of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God is characterized, and attention is focused on its high historical and cultural value.
