Drawing on archival sources, the author analyzes the process of designing and building a monolithic reinforced concrete arch bridge in difficult hydrological and climatic conditions of Eastern Siberia. Special attention is paid to the comparative analysis of the Irkutsk bridge and the similar European models of the early 20th century. The Glazkovsky Bridge is a significant achievement of the Soviet engineering school and an important element in the formation of a new spatial structure of Irkutsk.
