The markers of “Irkutsk” are not limited to the toponymic component, but it is not monosyllabic either. Toponyms in the city are formed under the influence of objective and subjective circumstances, are amenable to different interpretations, but become semantic markers when there is understanding of the context, that is, knowledge of the subject area.
