Аннотация

Критическое рассмотрение понятия «агломерация», заимствованного градостроительством из области металлургии, вызывает потребность в его переосмыслении и наполнении более адекватным профессиональным содержанием, отвечающим интересам формирования содружества самостоятельных городов, сохраняющих свои границы, природное окружение, архитектурное лицо, историко-культурную идентичность. Обосновывается тезис о том, что, в отличие от отдельных городов, агломерациям не следует стремиться к достижению органической целостности. Они должны оставаться дискретными, строящимися по принципу «аддитивного» суммирования элементов открытой системы.
